Kara e. brinster

Attorney Brinster has been practicing law for over 9 years, having graduated from UND School of Law in 2009.  She opened Brinster Law, P.C. on January 1, 2019.  Prior to opening her own firm, she worked at Dalsted & Ryan, P.C. in Jamestown, ND.   Ms. Brinster is the Foster County State's Attorney.

Ms. Brinster specializes in all areas of Family Law and is looking to expand her practice to include real estate and probate work.  Ms. Brinster is a mediator, both privately and with the Family Mediation Project.

Ms. Brinster was born and raised in Wahpeton, North Dakota.  She received her associates of Science in Pharmacy Technology in 1999 from NDCSC.  She worked as a pharmacy technician for 5 years before returning to school at NDSU to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2006. She went straight on to Law School at UND, graduating in 2009.

Ms. Brinster makes her home in Carrington North Dakota with her husband, Chad.   They are expecting their first child in May of 2019.

In her spare time, she enjoys quilting, reading and being an active member of her community.  Ms. Brinster is an active member of the Zonta Club of Jamestown, Sons of Norway, Troll Dancers and Healthy Communities.

Amanda Lee


Mrs. Lee started as a certified paralegal with Brinster Law in February 2019. Prior to joining Brinster Law, Mrs. Lee worked as a certified paralegal with Stefanson Law since 2005, practicing in administrative law, personal injury, wrongful death, asbestos law employment law and corporate law.  She was born and raised in Kensal, North Dakota, where she currently resides and graduated from Kensal High School in 2002. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2005 from Minnesota State University, Moorhead's ABA approved paralegal program.   Prior to receiving her degree she worked for Johnson, Rodenberg and Lauinger Law Firm, a firm specializing in collection law matters. In addition, she completed an internship with Chapman Law Firm, a firm specializing in criminal defense and immigration law. While a student at Minnesota State University Moorhead she was actively involved in the Moorhead State Paralegal Association, Minnesota. Following graduation, she was actively involved in the Red River Valley Paralegal Association as the Second Vice President. In 2010, she received her paralegal certification through the National Association of Legal Assistants, Inc. Ms. Lee has also volunteered at Innovis Hospital, the F-M Humane Society, Fargo Police Department and the Dorothy Dayhouse of Hospitality. She is currently actively involved in the Kensal Community Sunday School.  In her spare time she enjoys helping on the family farm, camping, reading, traveling and spending time with her four children and husband.
